On Monday, October 16, 2006, Comverse was awarded with the MobileVillage® Bright Star Award for their contributions to the mobile entertainment world. Both Comverse’s FunDial service, as well as their avatar product, Klonies, received this accolade.

The fifth annual Mobile Star Awards recognizes the top mobile products, deployments, and leaders. Winners are chosen by subscribers to Go Mobile®, MobileVillage’s online newsletter sent to technology executives, mobile users, buyers, IT managers, developers, and top tech journalists. This year produced hundreds of entries in about 60 categories.

Comverse's Fun Dial Wireline Personalized Ringback Tone Service was honored for its unique features, supporting a new outlet for self-expression. Comverse delivers a new level personalization by enabling fixed-line users to designate tunes and other audio content that callers hear while waiting for the phone to be answered. Comverse Klonies were also awarded the Bright Star award. Klonies can become users' alter-egos, representing how they want to be perceived in their mobile communications. Unlike similar products in the market, Comverse ensures the use of Klonies be an easy and simple process. It can sometimes be an unnecessarily challenging process for the user to read and understand large blocks of text. As the sender, using a Klonie instead is a more visual way of expressing all that the text may say.
