Mobile Email
Email has rapidly become a commodity for the masses, and with the mobile phone as the primary terminal for many, mobile email is set to follow suit. The Comverse Mobile Email service enables operators to capitalize on the popularity of email to increase data traffic, attract new subscribers, and generate additional revenue. Now operators can provide cost-effective, convenient and easy-to-use mobile access to email to all their subscribers, regardless of their handset type or their network affiliation.
Comverse Mobile Email meets the major challenges that have been restraining subscribers and concerning operators. Inherent in the offering is convenience and simplicity, with an easy-to-use functional interface that replicates the typical web-mail and desktop-mail experience. ISP or portal email identity can be retained and convergence is further enhanced by the ease of integrating instant messaging as a complementary application with a shared interface and a shared address book. The quality of service is very reliable through highly efficient and innovative traffic flow optimization. Comverse Mobile Email provides subscribers with an innovative and complete suite of services, leveraging on our historical experience with field-proven leading technologies. With the ability to aggregate multiple email accounts, Comverse Mobile Email is device agnostic and includes full attachment handing.
This offering includes three implementation tracks:
PushMail
An effortless email experience for the subscriber, and it is available in two configurations. One is Email to Client that allows email messages to be directed transparently, in real-time, to the handset. The subscriber is notified only after the handset client receives the full content. The alternative, Email to MMS service, directs email messages to the native Multimedia Messaging Service client of the subscriber's handset.
BrowserMail
An enhanced, browser-based device-agnostic email experience available through the web, WAP or i-mode applications. This provides the subscriber with full email functionality and attachment support, including user profile management and a wide spectrum of subscriber notification options.
MIMail
An innovative portal experience that incorporates mobile email with mobile instant messaging in a combined client that integrates with existing portals/communities (MSN, Yahoo, AOL, etc). This provides the subscriber with advanced mobile email and mobile instant messaging from a within a single handset client.
A mobile instance of email has, without a doubt, the ability to expand communication’s scope. It gives people the opportunity to immediately view and respond to their messages anywhere, anytime and from any device. For the operator, mobile email is a necessary part of their service offering. With Comverse’s suite of solutions, operators now have a real opportunity to overcome the various barriers that have delayed uptake and held back the fusion of email and the mobile handset.
